Hey Ladies, I posted a picture of the Me Now Lip Glosses on my Instagram @foqiyafoxinayatbeautyblog just over a week ago when I received them after a whole month of waiting! Since I wanted to try them out for you before I made a post of my thoughts on them...
I first heard about these from another bloggers Instagram - @beauteabible_ & they compared these to the Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipsticks. The fact that they said these were dupes really caught my interest as I had already purchased 4 of the Liquid Lipsticks & I was in love with them so when I heard these were dupes I was really excited! Especially when they only cost £1 - Yep, you heard me, £1!
When someone mentions dupes lip colours - I instantly perk up because often, I give lip colours away that I've used on clients which means I'm always picking up lipsticks, lip pencils & glosses on a regular basis - & the cost does add up. I recently gave my ABH Liquid Lips in Sad Girl & Heathers away so I was on the hunt for some replacements until I placed my next order for ABH & so these came in to save the day
I ordered these off Ebay well over a month ago & they took 4 weeks to get to me which is super long when you're as impatient as me but I was given a tracking number to keep an eye on my parcel & considering shipping was free, I don't think that's too bad.
The shade selection with these is amazing (38 colours)! I had trouble choosing shades to try but eventually I settled on 13 ranging from soft nudey Pinks, & bright Fuchsias to blood Reds.
When I tried some on, I was really impressed & blown away by how pigmented & matte they applied - The majority are matte but I think there are some soft shimmer ones as well which are just as fab. Not all of the applied as pigmented however, I found 2 shades to be quite sheer even though I did attempt to layer the colours, they began to look streaky which was a fail! I'm not sure if I got some bad duds or if more are like that as well?
I found them to have amazing staying power on the lips & they do not budge until you remove them. I loved how these don't tear on the lip or peel if you stretch your lips out like some matte lipsticks, so you don't have to worry whilst you're drinking or eating about touch ups etc. They do feel tacky even when dry on the lips which I find annoying throughout the day, & when the sticky feeling didn't go away I popped on some loose powder which helped a great deal. I also have a thing for the soft scent - It smells really familiar but I haven't been able to place it which is driving me crazy!
They are fairly easy to apply as they come with a doe foot wand but I find that since they dry so quickly, you have to be quicker at applying them & if you make a mistake then it takes a oily cotton bud to correct it. The ABH Liquid Lipsticks were much easier to apply & fix up in my opinion but considering the massive price difference, I don't think that this is much of an issue to be honest.
I would definitely recommend you exfoliate your lips prior to application as they really will emphasise any lines or flaky skins & to remove them, I scrubbed oily makeup wipes over my lips & the colour quickly but you can also use an oil based makeup remover or almond oil/olive oil.
Overall, I do think these are an absolute steal & I will be picking up the rest of the shades as well as doubles of some shades to give away to clients. The packaging is just so simple & easy to use, then pop into your bag. They definitely do give ABHs a run for their money & I might just put off buying the rest of the Liquid Lips! Although the formula for the Me Now glosses is not as superior as the ABH ones, you literally cannot go wrong with these considering you can buy all 38 shades for the same price as 2 of the Liquid Lips!
So there you go, my thoughts on the Me Now Generation II Lip Glosses. I really hope this was helpful & informative & I didn't ramble on so much...
As always, let me know what you think!
