Hey lovelies, I wanted to post about one of my go to highlighters for a lot of my looks. I used to use the Mineralize Skin Finishes or Benefit Highlighters, (Moon Beam & Sunbeam) but recently I've really been digging the Mary Lou highlighter for practically every look.
Now to be honest I haven't had this product for very long. I brought this during the ASOS Christmas sale along with the Benefit BIG EASY - (See post here...) in December last year, so just over 2 months. I had wanted to get it awhile ago but it was sold out practically everywhere. I even tried popping into Superdrug to find it since they had recently started stocking The Balm stuff but they were sold out in - store & online... You ladies know I prefer my online shopping!
So first things first - the packaging is super cute! I love the lil chic outer packaging box & the compact itself is nice and sleek. It also comes with a mini mirror which I always find handy - Thankfully it's not a cheapo mirror which bends the face like in House of Mirrors! I also love the play on words name they've given it... Lou-Manizer - Female Womanizer ( Get it?!) and Luminizer.
Secondly, it's insanely pigmented! The picture shown above where I swatched the luminizer on my finger tips was just a soft swipe! It goes on so smoothly and feels like cream. You can use it softly for a hint of glow or really build it up strong & I mean disco ball strong!
I mainly use it as a highlighter on the tops of cheekbones, on the cupids bow, under the eyebrow arch & inner tear duct area. It immediately gives such a healthy & gorgeous glow - And for those who have close set eyes (me!), it really opens up the area & brings in more light.
Since the shade is Champagne Gold - It's very universal! It will look stunning on the fairest of the fairest to the most ebony of skins. You can't go wrong with this product in my opinion, even if you like a soft glow, just be a little light handed with your application. A little goes a long way.
As I understand there are 2 other luminizers that The Balm also released - The Cindy Lou-Manizer which gives a Pinky Glow, ideal for fair skin tones & the Betty Lou-Manizer which gives a more rich Sun Kissed Glow, ideal for olive or deeper skin tones.
They all retail for around £17.50 which I know it pricey for a Luminizer, however you do get a serious amount of product - 8.5 g to be precise - for you money! Would I repurchase? Of course, I'll be getting one to add to my personal makeup bag as well as picking up the others especially Betty Lou!
I hope you liked this quick post. Let me know what you think below!
