A few weeks ago I took advantage of a promotional email from Sleek offering 15% off any orders made over the weekend so of course I made a humongous order, (I mean who doesn't love a discount on makeup?!)
I picked up 4 Blush BY 3 Palettes, the Face Form Palette in Fair, 3 Glitter liners, the gorgeous new eye shadow palette, 'Vintage Romance' & both of the NEW Eye & Cheek Palettes.
Blush By 3 -
I've been loving Sleek Makeup eye shadows for years, since I started my love affair with makeup in college but other than the Gel Pot Liner, I had never really purchased anything else despite hearing great things about their blush palettes. So I decided to pick up a few. I did want to pick up all 8 palettes but only four were in stock (Such a let down!) and these were the only ones I managed to get: (Pictured below from Left to Right) Sugar, Pink Sprint, Pumpkin & Flame.
Surprisingly all of the shades are super wearable despite being so pigmented & smooth. If you are wary of the bright, bold colours, use a light handed touch because the colours really do pack a punch. Sleek really did a great job with these combinations & formulas including mixing some mattes with shimmers. There's just something so lovely about the way the matte shades creamily blend out which is really hard with some matte formulas.
They actually remind me of NARS Blush so if you're on a budget & looking for alternatives, definitely pick some of these up for a third of the price! They also do great 3 for the price of 2 offers every now & then in Superdrug/Boots which makes them even more affordable! All 4 palettes are gorgeous but my everyday go to palette at the moment is Sugar since it is on the neutral Autumn-y shade which are perfect right now.
Another fab thing about these is that they can be used as eyeshadows which is what I do with all blush in general anyway since I don't think I ever touch pan on eyeshadows or blush so it's nice to find another use for them and feel less guilty!
Face Form -
The other Sleek product everyone has been raving about is the Face Form Palettes which contains a contour, highlight & blush or bronzer all in one. Again like the blush palettes, these cheek powders are go on so smoothly and blend like a dream. My chosen shade was Fair; The 3 colours in this palette compliment each other really well and I like how the matte contour powder has a cool grey undertone rather than a red undertone which can make the face look orange and dirty. The blush colour also reminded me ever so much of the famous NARS shade Orgasm - a peachy pink shimmery shade which looks gorgeous on all skin tones!
"Remember the difference between a Contour & Bronzer, Ladies! Bronzers are used to warm up the face and give that Sun Kissed Tan effect whereas Contour Powders are used to slim, define & sculpt the face by mimicking the natural cool shadows along cheekbones, jawlines, nose etc. - Fox"
The Face Form palettes come in 4 Shade selections (pictured below), Light, Fair, Medium & Dark. Only the Light & Fair come with a Blush - The Medium & Dark come with a Shimmery Bronzer instead. The palettes are great multitasking palettes and are practical too as they take all the guess work out of choosing the ideal shades for your skin colour. The highlighters are all various shades of shimmery gold champagne and look gorgeous across all skin tones.
Cheek & Eye Palettes - (Taken from the Sleek Makeup Website)
"Multi-functional palette contains four shadows and two blushers from our bestselling Natural i-Divine & Blush range. Eye & Cheek Palette provides all of your colour essentials in one convenient compact. These velvety smooth eye shadows & blushers are highly pigmented and long-lasting, making blending and defining simple. Each palette contains complementary neutral and bold shades suited to all skin tones. Packaged with magnetic snap-shut mechanism, a large mirror and two essential brushes for effortless application."
The new multi-functional palettes that have been released by Sleek contain 4 eye shadows & 2 blush. The palettes have the usual slim line design with a generous mirror and come with two mini makeup applicators. I do love the mirror especially as it will be useful when travelling but I always prefer using my own brushes as they give better results; I instead use the little brushes they give for patting glitter onto eyelids or I give them to clients to use as lip applicators for touch ups.
I do find they last for quite a while on the lids however I always use an eyelid primer since my skin is so very oily so the longevity of the shadows will vary according to your skin type.
Although these palettes are lovely I wasn't particularly excited when I opened them up as I was with the BY 3 Blush Palettes simply because some of the shades in here were repeated from older eye palettes so if you do have some of the previous eye shadow palettes, I wouldn't recommend these. However if you are just starting to purchase Sleek Makeup - I would definitely recommend these picking these up to try out at first.
Dancing Til Dusk-
I like how this palette is perfect for everyday use whether you work, study or like to wear soft neutrals on a day to day basis. All shades are pigmented and smooth and I love how they are a mix of matte and shimmer - making the palette more wearable and versatile. Both shimmery & matte shades blend well. The Pink blush (Mirrored Pink) although looks lovely on fair to medium - fair skin tones, will look ashy on medium - dark to dark skin tones. The Dusky Coral Shade however looks fabulous universally and can be built up for a bold colour on the cheeks or as a soft flush.
Overall the palette is a general go to palette - It may not be exciting but it's good for those days when you don't have to think about what look you want to create or when you have 5 minutes to do a quick look.
See You At Midnight -
This palette has to be my favourite of the two. I adore the mauve & plummy colours for the autumn/winter seasons as they look good without trying to hard. The palette has been put together so well and each colour is very pigmented and applies like velvet over the lids. It most definitely is suited for more evening glamor looks or for the more bright Smokey eyes, (I'm getting kinda bored of the typical brown/black smoked out eyes...)
I love the blush shades and actually used both in the crease and as transition colours which again is a good use for blushes.
Vintage Romance -
I adore this palette! I think it's replaced my old favourite sleek palette. I first used this on Eid - Ul - Adha since I was wearing a Yellow Kaftan and a Gold Hoojab. The gold shadows in this palette looked stunning, blended out so well and had such good pay-out. I definitely think this is a wearable and versatile palette since all the colours go so well together and it's easy to come up with so many looks especially for the evening, night looks.
If you are tanned or are medium or even dark skinned then this palette will look gorgeous pairing the shimmery golds with the plummy purples for every day glam wear. For fair skin, this palette will still look fabulous but might be too much for every day since it is very pigmented.
The palette has 11 shimmery shadows and 1 matte brown is perfect for blending out in the crease and for smudging along the lower lash line. I use the black glittery shadow in the outer V for definition.
Although I don't mind that there is only one matte in the palette I wish they had made one of the purples matte as well. The other downer is that there is fall out but that's with all Sleek Makeup to be honest and I always do my foundation base last or use Shadow Shields to catch any fallen shadow. I'd rather have pigmented eye shadows with fallout then chalky ones...
Glitter Dip It Eyeliner -
I picked these up not just to use as liner along the lower lash line but also as a base for additional glitter on top. The liner pen is the standard brush tip, not a hard felt tip. I personally haven't found any irritation from using the glitter liner nor has it moved or faded on me.
The purple liner I got for around £1.99 which I had to pick up as they usually retail for around £4.49 (It was further reduced in the sale...) I personally think these are much better than the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liners so if you are boycotting UD as with all Estee Lauder Products like I am trying then these are a great dupe and a steal!
The one thing I felt a little off about was that the glitter was easy to peel off when I did go ahead and start removing it. Which on one hand is a good thing because I don't have to tug on the skin too much but I'm not sure how well it would hold up on the lids of a bride who typically have long events and tend to get oily. I'll have to play around with it a little more...
Right so that's the end of my extremely long haul & review... I definitely did make the most of the Sleek Makeup 15% offer as you lovelies can see! I do hope I didn't bore you too much and if you have any questions or want to know anything else just drop me a comment & message below!
And as always, best Wishes,
